Safari 4 Beta Review: First Bugs

| 2 Comments | No TrackBacks
Well, today I found a bug in Safari 4. I'll tell you what it is later, but I want to right now talk about the bug reporting system. My issue revolves around the Safari preferences, and I wanted to send it to Apple. Well, when you click on the "Send Bug Report" button it assumes that your bug revolves around problems with a web page. Well, there is no button for that. There is only "Other" and when you select it, it still asks if you want to include a webpage screenshot.
My problem is pretty simple, really. In my install of Safari 4, the cookie functionality keeps switching itself off. So, every time I try to login to a site that I'm already logged in to, it sends me back to the login page because it can't write the appropriate cookie. So, I have to switch it back on.
This really isn't a significant problem, but it is pretty annoying to me.

Just a thought, as is everything I say...

Same here... but with Safari 4 final.

It keeps kicking me back randomly to the logon screen. Do you have a solution for that?

Well, I know that in Safari 4 taht the cookie functionality is screwey. It's the same in the final release, as I am finding out. You just have to go and switch it back on manually if it gets shut of and kicks you back to the login screen, i guess.
