Android-Market-Logo-Small.jpg
I know that for the past few weeks my blog has been suspiciously devoid of content. I therefore am starting a new series to get my blog back to where it should be. The new series will be called the Daily App Find! I will showcase an app a day (hopefully every day) that I found and thought I should share with everyone else. These apps will be for pretty much all platforms; be it Android, iOS, Mac, or Windows. Starting tomorrow I will showcase some neat apps that everyone should go try out. Hold on too your hats, this one's gonna be good.

Netflix for Android? Where is it?

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
Today, Netflix released its app that allows netflix streaming video to iPhone devices. This would be great for me, if only I had been graced with an iOS device. I am an avid apple fanboy as you know, but I broke with tradition to buy an Android device. So this leaves me wondering: where is my Netflix for Android? I heard all the rumors, but have seen no result. So I leave it to you. When do you think we'll see Netflix for us android users? Leave your answers in the comments! All for Now!

Oracle Acquisitions: Who's next?

The logo of Oracle Corporation

Image via Wikipedia

Recently, Stephen Jannise over at ERP Software Advice  wrote an interesting blog entry on who the software giant Oracle will absorb next. He expresses his opinions that Oracle will looks towards many different software companies, such as TIBCO, Sungard, and RIM. Of course, Oracle will be looking towards many different new software companies to acquire in the future. However I'd like to propose something different. Being new to the field of corporate merger analysis, I really don't know much about what I am talking about so bear with me. I believe that Oracle will now look towards more electronics manufacturing companies. They own Java now, and several other database and enterprise level softwares. Wouldn't it be great if Oracle owned a company like HP who could manufacture specialized servers for them? I think that would make sense. Whether or not they actually end up buying a manufacturing company is questionable, so don't hold what I said as law.

In any case, pop on over to Software Advice and post your ideas in their survey that they are holding on the topic and let everyone know what you think.

As the phone Dies...

Phone is Dead.jpgSo, as everyone hopefully say in my post yesterday about my tracfone having problems registering itself on the network, I decided that I would get to the bottom of the problem today. I called tech support this morning, was on hold for all of 2 minutes, gave them my information, and was put on hold yet again so that my representative could contact another department. Well, I thought that they would actually be able to fix my phone. But oh no, a few minutes later I was informed that I had to buy a new phone as my phone has a problem. Well i can't say i'm surprised, my phone has had tons of problems. But never network problems. Like not being able to connect. So i guess this means i might be finally switching to ATT some time in the future. After all, I gotta have a phone of some kind.

As the phone fails..

Tracfone isn't active.jpgLast January, i bought myself a new tracfone. Since then, i haven't really been having problems with the service on that phone except for the occasional call drop or dead zone. Other than that i've been satisfied with their service. However, last night my phone decided that the SIM in the phone was no longer registered with the network. I can't make calls, send texts, anything. Everything just fails. So, thinking that i could get the phone reactivated, i called tracfone and asked what the deal was. I was on the phone with them for maybe 20 minutes when I was notified that the department that can handle my call is not in for work on sundays. Great. So here i sit with a completely non functional phone that i can't add minutes to, send texts from, reactivate, do anything. I will call them back tomorrow and see if i can get my phone reactivated. If not, i probably will be finally making the jump and switching to AT&T.
